All the painting done, now onto the finish.

This one is a gift from a friend,  an ICM kit in a Revel box, tricky build but got it ironed out.

Had a vicious lower fuse seem past the back of the lower wing right up to the tail wheel,

the yellow lower engine section is a two piece "thinker" ! get it wrong and you have a Grand Canyon!

Intense 3 fret Pe set, I couldn't get some of it right so went with a mix of it and kit parts on a few things.

RLM 78 and white wing tips/fuse and nose band painted, yellow next up.
And yes I closed it up and forgot to take pit photo's....

Model Master RLM 04 over Tamiya white primer, , Gunze RLM 78 and 79 over A/S 12, Tamiya T/S 26 Pure White
over Tamiya white primer

Base = A/S 12 bare metal silver

The kit comes with two props, one seems like paddle blades, the other is slim blades, and two under nose oil? coolers, I went with the slimmer one, no info on these items so which is which for the F2 and F4 is anyone's guess.

Looking superb Phil the broader blades are for later model G2 and G4 high altitude fighters. Nice paint work.

Looks pretty good Phil.
I'm having a bit of a Bf 109 "moment" myself having recently bought a "flock" of them in 1/48, it such a nicely proportioned aircraft.

Cheers guys!

yeah you just gotta love the old 109's!

here are the decals just finished applied with Future over Testors rattle glosscote, no troubles with these lovely Eaglecals

This aircraft was repainted so a lot of the factory applied stencils were over-painted and never put back on.

Will leave for 24 hours to let the Future completely dry then flatcoat and lightly weather this one.

yes, I have to paint the starboard engine cowl support rod yet!

Finished this one tonight.

BF 109 F4/Trop WN 8673 was handed over to 3. Staffel, JG 27 Summer 1942 after a long period of workshop level maintenance.
During this process it had been repainted with a non standard desert camouflage which affected the stencils and servicing markings - many of which were over painted.

The camo demarcation line ran along the lower fuselage and extended over the wing leading edges into the wing's lower surface.

Flown by Hauptmann Hans-Joachim Marseille Africa, September 1942.

Damage to white fuselage band was inflicted by a large rock during a take off.

Centre canopy piece needs a little sanded off it to fit better but will do that later and repaint it
